This department ensures that all and every medicine manufactured at AVN is of the highest quality and is compliant with all the regulatory requirements. This includes screening and approval of raw materials, in-process quality control checks and finished product quality assessment along with documentation.

The microbiology department functions in two different ways. 

• As a part of the quality control of products, ensuring that all products must mandatorily be checked for the presence of harmful disease-causing bacteria. 
• In researching & developing products against infections caused due to microorganisms.

This is a critical department for researching and creating new products, validating the efficacy of products, and understanding different products’ action mechanisms. This department is involved in in-silico identification/validation of herbal combinations effective in specific conditions as well as in-vitro analysis & validation of efficacy herbal combinations for specific indications.

The department is involved in characterisation of raw materials besides creating and updating standards for different raw materials. It is involved in creation and validation of new herbal combinations for specific indications. It also undertakes formulation development for the validated combinations and their pharmaco-kinetic, pharmaco-dynamic and pharmaceutical characteristics.
