Lehyams are semi-solid preparations prepared in a medium of sugar or jaggery. It is prepared by mixing Kwathas with kalkas/fresh pulps of fruits with either sugar or jaggery and a lipid component like a ghee or oil.
This is done until the lehyam gets the samyak paka lakshanas as prescribed in the text books of Ayurveda. Once it attains the samyak paka lakshasnas, usually honey and certain spices are added to the formulation.
